Steel braided brake hoses are more resistant to brake fading, it will also eliminate brake pedal sponginess, provide firm and immediate brake response hence reduce braking distance during emergency braking is especially important for such a high performance model.
Honda Civic EG factory rubber brake hose shown below. Please note that this Honda Civic EG is fiited with aftermarket shock absorber which doesn't come with the brake hose bracket holder, so it uses cable tie to hold the rubber brake hose in place which is not commendable and has the risk of brake failure if the cable ties break off.

Stock front brake hoses of the Honda Civic EG are made of rubber. Most of the time, moisture will be absorbed into the brake fluid systems through rubber brake hoses and contaminate brake fluid, contaminated brake fluid can be harmful to the rubber brake hoses' inner surface, and affect the braking performance. It is advisable to check your rubber brake hoses frequently for possible faulty.
